About Us

Briarwood Blues Society began on Briarwood Avenue in North Tampa — the street where I live, teach, and run my home recording studio. A few years ago, I met my neighbor Dan, a drummer, after hearing music coming from across the street. We jammed, found instant chemistry, and the idea for a band was born.

With longtime student Robert joining on bass, we became a power trio for nearly a year, building a strong catalog of material. Later, we brought in 15-year-old guitarist Adric after he impressively learned the Dickey Betts solo to “It’s Not My Cross to Bear” by ear.

As of February 2026, we’re now a four-piece band with over two hours of material, focused on tightening our sound and preparing to bring authentic blues to the stage. We’re excited for what’s ahead.
